After weeks filled with discussions about tariffs, we’ve finally got a preorder date for the Switch 2 in the United States.
Nintendo announced today via a press release that preorders for the Switch 2 will kick off on Thursday, April 24. The pricing stands at $449.99 for the console alone, while a bundle including a digital copy of Mario Kart World is set at $499.99, at least for the time being.
However, be prepared for some accessory price changes due to ongoing circumstances. The Switch 2 Pro Controller is now priced at $84.99, which is a $5 increase. Similarly, a pair of Switch 2 Joy-Cons is now $94.99. If you’re thinking about getting a second dock set, that’ll now set you back an additional $10, bringing the total to $119.99. Even the extra straps for the Joy-Cons have gone up by a dollar, costing $13.99, with other accessories seeing a $5 increase as well. You can find detailed MSRP listings for the hardware along with pricing for games like Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza in the images accompanying this article.
For our friends north of the border, it looks like Canadian preorders are expected to open on the same day. Due to a national holiday, official confirmations from retailers might be delayed. However, Nintendo of Canada has indicated that they’re sticking with the same date and will provide Canadian pricing details.
