OneXPlayer has officially launched their innovative X1 Pro, which boasts a versatile 3-in-1 form factor thanks to AMD’s Strix Point APUs. Adding to their impressive lineup following the F1 Pro and Ayaneo 3, the X1 Pro stands out as one of the first handheld devices to integrate AMD’s cutting-edge Zen 5 Strix Point APUs. It’s positioned as a formidable rival to GPD’s upcoming Pocket 4 mini-laptops.
The X1 Pro’s adaptable design is a game-changer, functioning seamlessly as a laptop, tablet, and handheld device. In line with the Pocket 4, it features the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, equipped with a total of 12 cores (comprised of four Zen 5 and eight Zen5c) in a dual-CCX setup. It also packs 12MB of L2 cache and a substantial 24MB of L3 cache, with an impressive boost clock speed of 5.1 GHz. The device also brings the Radeon 890M iGPU to the table, complete with 16 Compute Units. Plus, AMD’s XDNA 2-powered NPU in the HX 370 delivers a whopping 50 TOPS of AI performance.
On the display front, users will appreciate the 10.95-inch screen that features a 120 Hz LTPS (likely an IPS panel) and offers a sharp 2560×1600 (2.5K) resolution. The vivid display has a striking richness, covering 138% of the sRGB color space and reaching a brightness of 540 nits. Storage options are customizable, with capacity ranging from 1TB to an expansive 4TB, and impressive read/write speeds of up to 7.1 GB/s and 6.5 GB/s, respectively, all within the 2280 storage form factor. OneXPlayer has even added a MicroSD card slot for those needing extra storage flexibility.
A key benefit of the X1 Pro is its substantial 65.02Wh battery, promising up to eight hours of usage. Of course, your real-world mileage may vary; expect about two hours of runtime when configured at 28W. Every unit also includes a 100W Gallium Nitride charger. In terms of connectivity, users are treated to support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.
The X1 Pro really goes the extra mile with its controller design, featuring hall-effect RGB joysticks specially designed to minimize stick drift. As far as I/O options go, the device includes two USB 4.0 ports, an OCuLink interface, a MicroSD card slot, a USB 3.2 Type-A port, and even a classic 3.5mm audio jack.
Starting today, pre-orders are open, giving early adopters a chance to purchase the X1 Pro at a special presale discount. Shipping kicks off on January 3rd, and this exciting piece of tech will be showcased at CES 2025 alongside other OneXPlayer devices next month.
