The Polish gaming company, People Can Fly, is stepping back into the Gears of War universe.
In an announcement on its website, the studio revealed its collaboration with Xbox’s first-party team, The Coalition, on the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day. This isn’t the first time People Can Fly has dived into the Gears series; they previously led the development of Gears of War: Judgment in 2013 and contributed to the development of the first three installments of this sci-fi shooter saga.
Sebastian Wojciechowski, the CEO of People Can Fly, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Going back to work on the next chapter of this iconic series is not only an honor but a thrilling chance to enhance the intense action and deep storytelling that fans cherish.” He added, “We are extremely thankful for the trust and support our partners have shown us on this venture.”
Echoing this sentiment, Mike Crump, head of The Coalition, stated, “Gears of War: E-Day is more than just our latest significant release; it’s a homage to the elements that make Gears of War unique and genuine. We’re excited to collaborate with the skilled team at People Can Fly, who have played a crucial role in our franchise’s history for so long.”
It’s worth noting that People Can Fly went through significant changes, having reduced its workforce by more than 150 positions in 2024.
