When it comes to massive multiplayer war games that authentically reconstruct the arenas, weapons, and vehicles from legendary historical battles, Enlisted truly stands out. It’s a free-to-play game with a fiercely competitive edge, and with its latest update, it has upped the ante by introducing some of the very first jet fighters to take to the skies, along with a slew of exciting new weapons from the World War II era.
In Enlisted, you’ll find the American, Soviet, German, and Japanese armies clashing, offering a whole arsenal to either recreate genuine WWII scenarios or concoct wild hypothetical battles — ever wonder who might prevail in an off-the-wall fight? Although initially met with criticism and even removed from Steam shortly after its debut on Valve’s platform, Enlisted has made an impressive comeback. It’s now among the top-tier war games available, and the new Jet Power update is only enhancing its appeal.
With this update, all four factions receive at least one jet-powered aircraft to elevate the thrill of aerial combat. The Americans now fly the Meteor F Mk.3 and the F-80A-5. For the Germans, two Messerschmitt jets, the Me 262 A-1a/Jabo and the Me 262 A-1/U4, are at the ready. Soviet players can take to the skies in the Su-9, while the Japanese forces now pilot the Kikka.
If you’re more inclined towards ground warfare, there’s plenty of new firepower to explore as well. The USSR’s arsenal has welcomed the Fedorov 1912 rifle and the Urugan SMG. The MG 81 machine gun, typically mounted on fighter planes, can now be fielded by German soldiers. To bolster the Japanese army’s tank-busting capabilities, they’ve added the German-engineered Ofenrohr rocket launcher. Meanwhile, American forces now have access to the Northover Projector, a long-range weapon that effectively hurls phosphorous grenades.
In addition to these new weapons, the update brings a series of map enhancements, notably including a comprehensive overhaul of Seelow Heights. This battlefield now features “a greater variety of vegetation, alternate routes to capture points, and more cover for infantry.”
