John Gonzalez, the creative mind behind the writing of Fallout: New Vegas, has made his way back to Obsidian Entertainment. He shared this exciting news on LinkedIn but made sure to clarify that he isn’t currently working on a sequel to New Vegas. Gonzalez’s initial stint at Obsidian lasted from 2008 to 2011, which followed his time at Ubisoft in Shanghai that spanned over two years.
After his tenure with Obsidian, Gonzalez took his talents to Warner Bros’ Monolith Productions. There, he was the lead narrative designer for two and a half years, contributing significantly to Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. His career then took him to Guerrilla Games in the Netherlands, where he played a key role in the creation of Horizon: Zero Dawn as the narrative director. Following this, he spent almost three years working at Smilegate’s Barcelona studio.
Aside from his impressive gaming industry resume, Gonzalez is also venturing into the world of literature. He has a novel set for release in 2025, intriguingly titled God Mode: Single Player. This upcoming book adds yet another dimension to his diverse storytelling career.
