Tired of hearing about “Dune Awakening” without getting your hands on it? Well, here’s some good news: you’ll soon have the chance to play it! A free open beta weekend is scheduled from May 9 to May 12. So, mark your calendars!
To join in, either add the game to your wishlist before May 9 or snag one of the many beta codes the team will be distributing over the weekend. It’s technically open, but you’ll need a sprinkle of luck to get in. Think of it as an almost-open invite.
Originally set for release on May 15, the game was delayed slightly to allow Funcom to put on the final touches. They’re taking a bit more time to ensure everything is polished and perfect for the official launch.
During the beta, you’ll have access to the first two regions, which should offer around 20 hours of gameplay if you dive deep. Feel free to explore some Research Facilities, experiment with early abilities for different classes, and even engage in a bit of PvP at ship crash sites. It’s a solid preview of what’s to come. If you’re interested in our take, we have a brand-new preview of “Dune Awakening” available today, covering this part of the game.
