A pesky bug in “Indiana Jones and the Last Circle” is causing quite a stir among players, preventing them from advancing and completing some significant achievements. Itβs been over six weeks since the game hit the market, but this troublesome glitch has yet to be resolved, much to the chagrin of the gaming community.
At the heart of the problem lies a persistent bug in the “Blessed Pearl” mission of “Indiana Jones and The Great Circle.” Players are reporting that Indy is unable to navigate through essential elements like ladders, vines, and narrow passageways. MachineGames is apparently aware of the situation. “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” stands out as a brilliant action-adventure title, one that ranks highly in my list from the past year. Unfortunately, this issue in the Sukhothai mission has put a halt to my exploration, and from what I hear, Iβm not alone.
This glitch, which is bizarre to say the least, restricts our beloved archaeologist from ascending vines, scaling ladders, or squeezing through tiny crevices. Frustratingly, this seems to be confined to the Sukhothai level, specifically during a segment of “The Blessed Pearl” mission where Indy must navigate through a cave’s narrow gap. Once you’re in this confined space, itβs inaccessible from the broader game area. While fast travel might offer a temporary escape, it doesnβt fix the problemβIndy remains unable to climb or navigate narrow spaces.
Needless to say, encountering such a disruption is exasperating, prompting me to shelve the game until a fix comes along. MachineGames has provided a workaround by allowing players to revert to previous saves, but I find myself in a bind since two out of my three save files are bugged, and the third option would mean backtracking several hours of game progress, collectibles and all, from the depths of Vatican City’s maze.
A Reddit post sheds some light, with MachineGames pinpointing the bug to be associated with the character Sunan and possibly the “Lost in the Past” side quest. Turns out, once you complete the fieldwork and pass the golden hook to Sunan, thereβs a crucial, albeit easily overlooked, prompt for one last conversation with Sunan. Missing this conversation might cause Indy to lose the ability to climb and shimmy, leading to a dead end in “The Blessed Pearl.”
For those tangled in this web, if fortune favors you with a retrievable save point, you can backtrack and properly conclude the “Lost in the Past” quest with Sunan. Sadly, if you’re in the same boat as I am without a viable save, your wait for a MachineGames patch continues.
Since its release, “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” has been plagued not only by this bug but by a host of other teething issues, including problems with radio frequencies, the cog wheel puzzle, and various collectibles. It’s understandable that the holiday season might have delayed a rapid response from MachineGames, but the anticipation for a bug fix is palpableβIβm eager to dive back into the adventure.
